Heather Snodgrass
Heather has been helping people navigate Arizona divorce mediation proceedings and child custody mediation for a long time. In fact, she has been assisting attorneys with domestic relations law practice since 1994. That was the year Heather began working for the Honorable Boyd W. Dunn, a former judge with the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Although Heather was born in San Luis Obispo, California, she moved to the Grand Canyon State in 1981. Heather is a proud graduate of Chandler High School – “Go Wolves!”
Being the type of person who is embraces challenge, she went on to obtain her associate degree in paralegal studies from Phoenix College (1992).
Heather has always had a strong desire to help clients avoid the stress and cost of litigation whenever possible. One way is by solving problems through mediation, a form of alternative dispute resolution widely used in Arizona civil and family law cases. With her mind set on the value of being a facilitator of mediated agreements, Heather received her training and Certificate of Mediation in 2007 from Pepperdine University School of Law in Malibu, California.
What about life outside the office? When asked about her favorite hobbies, Heather just laughed. “My hobbies are my husband and my children!” She and her husband have two great kids. Heather’s son is an ASU graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering. He was a member of Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity. Her daughter graduated from college in Tennessee with a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology. She was a on the women’s softball team at Austin Peay State University fulfilling her lifelong dream of being a Division I athlete. “I traveled to Tennessee as much as possible to watch her play!” What parent wouldn’t enjoy that as a hobby?
Her favorite vacation destinations are Cabo San Lucas and Tillamook, Oregon, where Heather’s father owned a dairy farm for more than 25 years. The sleepy town known as the ‘Gateway to the Oregon Coast’ has always been special. “There is nothing more relaxing than the land of cheese, trees, and ocean breeze!”
At the end of a stressful workweek, if not traveling to an out of state destination (as they love to travel) Heather and her husband (a Captain with the City of Phoenix Fire Department) usually head to their Prescott cabin. A rustic get-away surrounded by national forest. That is the one place where they feel free to really relax, do some hiking and shooting, and enjoy cool summer days or snowy winter trails.
